old man in barcelona

I saw this man standing against a white wall. it was a busy street corner near ramblas, straight away I thought of Avedons portraits. I raised my camera to eyelevel and watched. I was about ten feet away. He didn't know I was there at first. I took three shots before this one, with him looking in other directions. I held my breath hoping he would look up. And for a fraction of a second he did. I fired the shutter and captured exactly what I had previsualised. I smiled for the rest of the day.
